Poznan, Parsifal and Takarazuka

I would like to post a few pics
from my trip to Poznań.
I went there for the conference about Asia
for students and young scholars.

My luggage
Anna Karenina for the long way
and my ballet shoes
to not miss my everyday's exercises
(have I written here that
I started taking ballet lessons?)

The conference was really interesting.
I listened to a lot of lectures
which were about the part of Asia
rather far from my academic field
and it is always so refreshing!
For example about Gagauz people
and the symbol of wolf in their culture.

It is also worth mentioning
that I met one visual kei fan
which encouraged me
to explore Takarazuka world closer.
Even thought I enjoyed the idea
of this theater for a long time
I did not have time/ motivation to look at it closer.
But oh gosh after seeing the character of Death
in Elisabeth I feel fully motivated to change it!

Death looking like Kamijo.
I am absolutely charmed by the idea of Death
looking like a beautiful, long-haired man
who continually follows my dear Sissi.

Sissi longed for Death. She was fascinated by it.
Was it because she imagined it as the delicate,
but dangerous man,
mysterious and charming?
The Kingdom of Dead
with its secret charm
suited her better than
Austrian Empire
with stiff and plain Franz Joseph.

Watch this :3

Oh, I was going to write about Poznan.
So a few pics.
Love the colorful tenement houses.

This place.
Kaya. Satsuki. Memories:3

And finally: opera.
Of course I could not miss it.
I am so jealous!
Poznan has such a beautiful opera!
Perfectly located: close to the castle and park
and classical in its forms with sophisticated interiors.

Pegasus on the roof
taking you up with every sound

Inside

Chandelier

Together with my aunt I went
to see Wagner's Parsifal.
And what can I say..
this opera got the better of me.
Maybe not even opera itself,
but Wagner's music definitely did it.
It was my first time hearing his music live
and I am simply speechless.
When hearing it on my computer and on tv
it was always like
so that's Wagner, that's nice,
but live... omg it's so monumental, mighty..
you simply feel like losing ground..
I have no idea what the story was about...
in fact the production design was poor,
the same like costumes and singer's acting...
so it only helped me to forget
that this even has any plot..
The music won it all.
I just remember myself
when looking at this gorgeous chandelier
with the full surprise that it is still in its place.
How can it bear all this power without
the dramatic fall on the ground which this music deserved?

Cooking, cooking, cooking :3

As you already know I got crazy
with cooking lately :3
To not spam with food all the time:
all in one post :D

Quiche
with spinach

with broccoli

Muffins
they were made for my friends

Sponge cake
for my Grandma

Now a few dinners

Chocolate pancakes with
mascarpone and rose marmalade
and strawberries <3

Spinach gnocchi with
soya goulash

Aubergine with couscous and mozarella

Macaroni casserole
with spinach (yes, I am addicted to spinach)
and blue cheese

And something for breakfast:
strawberry french toast
with nutella
(I didn't have toast bread
so they didn't turn out that good-looking,
but yummy :3 )

For the end:
tart with mascarpone and strawberries.
This one was made for the 'party hard'
with my best friend
(matching coffee liqueur made by her mom),
but it was probably my biggest cooking failure
so far...
The creme was not chilled enough,
because I did it on the last moment..
I used different recipe for the tart dough
and well...
Anyway it at last looks pretty nice :3

Just about to cry

Probably you mostly know him,
but I just want to make my blog more beautiful
with those illustrations :3

So Benjamin Lacombe's art

His Madame Butterfly is just perfect

I can not even express
those strange sadness and
the sense of fragility that this art accumulates.

Cakes, Orsay dress, this and that

So winter holidays are just about to end.
In fact they've already ended.
I wipe my tears with sweet things.

I finally started learning baking cakes.
This is my first cake I did by myself.
It was yummy :3

Latest shopping :D
Finally thermo rollers :D

This is the effect.
I love the curls,
but I feel (and look) strange
without my fringe.

Lately I also bought a dress
in local shop in Orsay!
Those roses :3

Blouse
(I will use it as an overblouse)

Heart pendrive

and two scarfs.
They were found at house.

And today's outfit
so mature, but I really like it

Rusalka, Bubble tea and random pics

Some daily pics :)
I like to post them for myself.
It makes me better remember
small moments.

But first of all:
Rusalka.
Cinema transmission:
live from Metropolitan Opera!

If you ask me what kind of opera I like..
I say: this kind!
Met's Rusalka is just this type.
Beautiful and nostalgic music,
unbelievable set design
(sometimes you just forget that it is "just the stage")
and costumes.
And fairy tale atmosphere.
Dark fairy tale-like.
The story very similar to The Little Mermaid.
And Piotr Beczała as the prince.
And unforgettable Song to the Moon:.
I still can not even speak about it
without emotions...

Above all I remember one scene:
Rusalka is left alone on dark castle stairs.
She knows that the prince has left her.
All is gone and they both can not escape
from Jezibaba's curse...
At this moment
you feel that she should sing a dramatic aria.
Everything asks for this aria. Beg for it...
You almost hear it in your heart...
but she can not sing it loud,
because she has devoted her voice
for Prince's love
that is now gone.
There is nothing left.
Even aria can not be sung.
Her pain can not even reach this kind of sense.
Oh this it too sad to even think about it...
The lost voice of an opera heroine...
it is like taking the essence of her...
and taking it for nothing...

Anyway: my outfit from this day.

Except it
(and lots of uni work)
I spend my time on some
small pleasures.

Cooking
Cannelloni with spinach

Reading
Jane Austin when eating
cranberries in chocolate :3

Watching
(I can't even express
how much I love Frozen)

Meeting friends

Cakes

(Cafe looks nice,
but the cake was not that good...)

Bubble tea
with my best friend :3

My full outfit

And selfie xD

Food, books, movies so to
complete the post: music :3
Catch this :D

For the end of the day:
Macaroons bath :3
